For any paging company, it's the network of transmitters that makes the
pagers work. A-1 Wireless Communications' network of transmitters
operate on UHF frequencies. Here's why we have chosen to use UHF
frequencies:
COVERAGE - The paging signal from each A-1 Wireless UHF
transmitter travels a long distance. A-1 has transmitters
strategically placed throughout the Panhandle
for optimum coverage. This means our customers' pagers work
wherever they are and in many places that cell phones don't work.
BUILDING PENETRATION - It's fairly easy to make a pager work
outdoors. However, modern hospitals, clinics and business
buildings are built from materials that block radio signals, including
paging signals.
UHF radio signals penetrate metal obstacles better than other
paging frequencies. This means your A-1 Wireless pager will
work in buildings where other paging carriers' pagers won't work.
UNIQUE FREQUENCY - A-1 Wireless' UHF Frequency is not
shared with any other paging carrier. Other paging carriers use
shared VHF frequencies which carry paging traffic from other
parts of Texas and the United States. When a frequency is
shared, it takes longer for your pages to be sent. How long are
you willing to wait for your critical messages?
BACKUP POWER - At A-1 Wireless, we are acutely aware of
the critical information carried on our network. This is why the
computers controlling the A-1 Wireless network are connected
to backup power sources to provide the greatest amount of
"uptime" for our critical communications customers. First
responders, physicians and emergency personnel all depend
on A-1 Wireless because our network reliability is greater than
that of many other wireless carriers.
LOCAL - For users who only need coverage in the metropolitan area of Amarillo, our local coverage fits the bill.
PANHANDLE-WIDE COVERAGE - If you travel the Texas Panhandle, A-1 Wireless gives you coverage from Guymon, OK to Tulia, TX. Our Panhandle-Wide paging coverage is the most complete Panhandle coverage of any paging carrier.
